Freeke Heijman steps down from Quantum Delta NL board
Freeke Heijman-Te Paske, Director of Ecosystem Development, is leaving Quantum Delta NL (QDNL). Freeke founded the organization in 2020 along with Ronald Hanson and Jesse Robbers and played a key role in obtaining the award from the Dutch National Growth Fund.
Freeke has made tremendous contributions to the QDNL ecosystem, through her energy and vision several initiatives have taken flight. She was instrumental in the establishment of the ecosystem development programme, the House of Quantum, the important support towards start-ups through Infinity QD, and the various field labs. With her background in the government domain, she served as an important linking pin between the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate and the quantum ecosystem. In addition, she was the driver behind the international relationship network around the various national quantum initiatives.
After 10 years of being active in the quantum space, at QDNL, QuTech, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, Freeke has decided to start a new chapter and has resigned from her role as a board member.
'Freeke is a true pioneer and advocate without whom QDNL would never be where we are today.'
On this occasion, Carlo Beenakker, Chair of the Supervisory Board comments: "Freeke is a true pioneer and advocate without whom QDNL would never be where we are today. We are grateful for her tireless efforts and will miss her creativity, focus on results and vision. We wish her the best of luck and success in her future career. Her duties will be taken over by the remaining members of the board and the rest of the team."
Freeke shared: "I am proud of the leading position and prominence we have managed to build as a small country. Recently, the programme has been evaluated, and we have been praised for our innovative approach and fast-growing ecosystem. Now that the real build-up phase of QDNL is behind us and we have received a positive review, it is a logical time for me to pursue a new path. I am confident that the outstanding team we have formed over the years can continue to build upon this success. QDNL is in good hands with the remaining board members, the people of the programme office and of course the leaders of the various programme lines.”
On behalf of the QDNL Board and Programme Office Team, we wish Freeke all the best as she pursues new adventures.
