Quantum Delta NL Expands Strategy with Renewed National Growth Fund Support
Delft – March 20, 2025 – Quantum Delta NL (QDNL), the Netherlands' national ecosystem for quantum innovation, announces that the National Growth Fund advisory committee has approved its updated programming and key performance indicators.
The revised approach ensures the continued progress of QDNL’s ambitious quantum innovation agenda while optimising resources. Through its catalyst programs, QDNL remains dedicated to fostering breakthroughs in quantum computing, networks, and sensors.
“With this strong support, we are accelerating our ambitious funding strategy to strengthen the innovative industry, expand global partnerships, and position the Dutch ecosystem at the forefront of the quantum revolution. I am proud of our team and partners—together, we will push quantum technology forward to shape the future!”
Carlo Beenakker, Chair of the QDNL Supervisory Board said: “This is wonderful news and worthy of applause for the team that made it happen!”
The initiative continues to drive progress in research, innovation, ecosystem development, talent cultivation, and societal impact. As part of its refined strategy, QDNL has shifted the House of Quantum initiative from investing in a new building to prioritizing state-of-the-art cleanroom facilities and shared infrastructure. Investments will now focus on cutting-edge cleanrooms at NanolabNL and key quantum hubs in Delft, Leiden, Twente, Amsterdam, and Eindhoven, ensuring an advanced ecosystem for quantum research and commercialization. This strategic shift enhances efficiency, optimizes resources, and strengthens the Netherlands’ position in the global quantum landscape.
As part of QDNL’s strategic consolidation, its international initiatives are now fully embedded within a global strategy, ensuring a cohesive and impactful approach. This integration strengthens QDNL’s focus on ambitious funding frameworks, deeper industry partnerships, and a seamless international strategy—spanning talent development, learning centers, pilot lines, the Chips Act, and beyond. Additionally, the former SME and Field Lab calls have been streamlined into a comprehensive and innovative funding strategy, enabling a more strategic and scalable approach to industry engagement and ecosystem support.
The advisory committee commended the careful restructuring process and acknowledged QDNL’s commitment to economic growth and effective program monitoring. These strategic refinements strengthen QDNL’s mission to position the Netherlands as a global quantum hub while maximising economic and technological benefits.
