QEX — Quantum Excellence Centre

Connecting Europe for Quantum Excellence
Just a few years ago, practical quantum computing solutions still felt out of reach. Today, you hear about quantum everywhere, and countries around the world are building their own hubs. That makes it more important than ever for Europe to act together. QEX (Quantum Excellence Centre) connects researchers, developers, policymakers, and industry partners to co-develop applications, share knowledge, and grow quantum expertise across the continent.
How we work
At QEX, the project is built around four main areas, each blablabla:
Engagement & Collaboration
Open Science & Results
Training & Skills
Events & Community

Engagement & Collaboration
We engage our community by running working groups to share results and gather input, co-developing applications and tools with end-users, and supporting collaboration across Europe’s national quantum ecosystems.

Open Science & Results
QEX produces software, datasets, and research outputs, sharing them as openly as possible while respecting IP and licensing rules. Through the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), we make tools and knowledge available to the wider quantum community, fostering transparency and collaboration.

Training & Skills
Developing a skilled user base is at the heart of QEX. Our training programme supports learners from beginners to advanced developers, offers workshops, online resources, and tailored activities led by experts, and shares materials openly to enable long-term skill development across Europe.
Events & Community
QEX organizes and participates in a variety of events to promote quantum computing and strengthen Europe’s developer and user community. Our event calendar includes:
Public events – open to anyone interested in quantum advancements.
Invite-only events – targeted discussions with selected participants.
Partner events – organized by consortium members.
Community events – for EuroHPC and QEC members.
