Quantum technology is poised to dramatically disrupt critical industries – chemistry, logistics, IoT, life sciences, health and cybersecurity, to name a few. Leading SMEs in complementary disciplines across the Netherlands are well-suited to playing a pivotal role in the quantum value chain – in software development, consultancy and material supply, equipment and electronics, and other disciplines.The Quantum Delta NL SME programme is designed to connect 125 high-tech, multidisciplinary Dutch SMEs with the arenas of quantum technology where they’re needed most. The inspiration for the SME programme springs from best practices of Nano4Society and MinacNed, who also provide direct coordination of programme activities.

Call for proposals Round 1

Terms & Conditions

<ul><li>Projects can comprise industrial or applied research (TRL2 2-4), and/or experimental development (TRL 5-8).</li><li>Projects have a maximum duration of 4 years yet are ultimately limited by the programme deadline of December 31, 2028.</li><li>Individual SME’s and/or public-private partnerships (PPP) can submit.</li><li>Proposals can range between €500,000 and €2 million per project.</li><li>The subsidy amounts to max. 2/3 of the eligible costs.</li></ul>

Promoting Participation by Multi-disciplinary SMEs in Quantum

THIS IS A PRESS STATEMENT BY EINDHOVEN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGYEindhoven, The Netherlands — VTEC Lasers &amp; Sensors is delighted to announce the successful launch of its inaugural SME project in Eindhoven, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of quantum technologies. Led by Dr. Jan Mink, CEO of VTEC Lasers and Sensor, in collaboration with Dr. Chigo Okonkwo at the Eindhoven Hendrik Casimir Institute (EHCI), Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Project SPIKE is set to revolutionize the field of quantum key distribution (QKD) with the development of Single-Photon Avalanche Diodes (SPADs) in Indium Phosphide. The primary objective of Project SPIKE is to create high-speed SPADs in Indium Phosphide, opening up new possibilities for the integration of detectors in Quantum Secure QKD transceivers. This breakthrough technology has the potential to address critical challenges in quantum communication, providing secure and robust high-speed quantum key distribution that is vital for the future of secure digital communication. Dr. Jan Mink, CEO of VTEC Lasers and Sensor, expressed his enthusiasm for the project: &quot;We are excited to embark on this journey with QuantumDeltaNL and Eindhoven Quantum Hub lead by TU/e. Our collaborative effort aims to push the boundaries of quantum technology, making quantum secure communication more practical and accessible. SPIKE represents a significant step towards realizing the full potential of quantum communication.&quot;Dr. Chigo Okonkwo, leading the Quantum communication activities at TU/e, added: &quot;Project SPIKE highlights the importance of bridging the gap between academia and industry. We are busy building an open-access quantum secure communication testbed with the objective of enabling the test and validation of various devices, sub-systems, and systems. Therefore, our collaboration with VTEC Lasers and Sensor exemplifies the synergy between cutting-edge research and practical applications. We are committed to achieving groundbreaking results in the development of Indium Phosphide based SPADs.&quot;QuantumDeltaNL, as a driving force in the Dutch quantum ecosystem powered by the 7-year National Growth Fund Projects in Quantum computing, communications, and sensing. Under the SME project, QuantumDelta NL facilitates innovation and collaboration between academia and industry. The successful launch of Project SPIKE signifies a key milestone in advancing quantum technologies in the Netherlands.
